Week Three on The SPX Weight Loss Challenge


Week Three on The SPX Weight Loss Challenge went well.  I didn't lose any weight from the week before but I have started to gain muscle I believe because I've added in leg lifts from the workout videos and have also started using the incline on the treadmill.

I started the incline to get more bang for my buck while walking/jogging on the treadmill.  I started out at 4% incline and walking 2.8mph.  By Friday I was at 5.5% incline and walked between 3.0 and 3.5mph.  This is a snapshot from Friday's workout.  This is only 30 minutes with 2 minute warm up and cool down.


Two weeks ago I was brisk walking for 35 minutes and only burned 140+ cals.  The incline works well and I have been using it every since gradually moving up each day.


If you're thinking about trying the incline be sure not to hold on to the hand rails, it actually causes you to burn less cals.  Also invest in a heart rate monitor.  They're fairly inexpensive and will help you reach your target heart rate.
